BRIDGEGOOD will recognize the Port of Oakland as the 2023 Community Partner of the Year, celebrating their collaboration that has resulted in the creation of 100,000 jobs over the past 5 years. This remarkable achievement stands as a testament to their joint commitment to fostering economic growth and empowerment within the community.

Meet the BRIDGEGOOD Team

BRIDGEGOOD, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit is on a mission to provide vital access, professional opportunities, and tech literacy to students and job seekers of color. Join our event to meet the passionate BRIDGEGOOD team members dedicated to making a difference, and connect with inspiring graduates who have transformed their lives through our programs. It’s an opportunity to witness the impact of bridging the gap and fostering diversity in the tech and design industries.

Shaun Tai, the Executive Director of BRIDGEGOOD, will take center stage as the keynote speaker, bringing with him a wealth of expertise as a five-time 40-under-40 honoree, 2023 Jefferson Award recipient, and acclaimed social entrepreneur, designer, and philanthropist. With a remarkable 15-year dedication to designing for social good, Shaun’s impact has resonated widely, earning him recognition on major news networks such as NBC, FOX, CBS, and CNN.

Meet the Event Emcee: Brooklyn Valera

Brooklyn Valera, an Atlanta-based UX Designer, thrives at the intersection of storytelling and design. Specializing in creating visually stunning and inclusive solutions, Brooklyn empowers individuals across diverse backgrounds. With a robust portfolio of user-focused projects, Brooklyn sparks meaningful conversations through responsive design and content strategy.

Brooklyn specializes in user and market research, information architecture, design systems, responsive UI, and prototyping; she is an emerging force in the world of UX Design. As a proud graduate of BRIDGEGOOD’s UX Design Apprenticeship, Brooklyn played a pivotal role in launching BRIDGEGOOD’s inaugural Design For Social Good summit in Atlanta, GA.
